Idk man maybe pitchfork just getting cheesier and cheesier to me but why does the review sound like he's holding back? In the same paragraph he says there's only "minor" issues of flow and tracklisting being the only negative of this album but then goes onto list all the feature tracks as songs that should've been deleted off a hard drive in the same paragraph?

It's the contrast of language within the writing is all. I'm only speculating too but seems like it's a paid off rev...but I dont know of any 8.5 range album this year where I would've confidently written three songs should've "stayed on a hard drive" while gritting my teeth and complimenting the rest of the album
