@Pots I'm curious as to why you gave this a 1. I can see it being low if the track list is too long or if you just don't like his style, but I usually only reserve a score that low for something that is almost impossible to listen to or something that I find no redeeming quality to.

I'm something that I don't understand about some users on this site. Like... I'll see people just drop some shit ratings on albums or artists because they don't like the artist personally and it has nothing to do with the integrity of their art. I might not like something, but very rarely do my ratings drop below a 2 unless I actually have a visceral reaction to how bad it is. Like... a 1 in my mind means the album has NO redeeming qualities and I just don't understand how something that is produced by professionals and is created by someone who has received critical acclaim, can have an album with no redeeming qualities to it.

Does it sound good? That's a redeeming quality. Does it have a talent artist behind the project who is just making bad music? Still redeemable. I can't think of any album that has NOTHING going for it. But I suppose that's just a subjective thing, right?

I can name 100s of albums that deserve a 1, this one isn't an example, but I also get why people 1 shit that they hate

Fair enough. The worst things I can think of that I've listened to recently have been the new Poppy album and Greg Pucianato's new project and, while I found them to be unfocused and not something that I would check again, I acknowledge that there were some cool ideas. But maybe I need to rethink the way I rate albums. Maybe I'm too generous.

how does one judge an artist's talent, anyway? Production skills? Technical ability? Songwriting chops? Critical reception? Ability to recreate the music live? All moldable standards
