Hell yeah. It's an incredible record start to end, has really opened my ears to past BE records that I've previously dismissed, too. This is just so melodic and poignant, immediate yet full of depth. I'm awestruck and can't stop talking/thinking about it either.
This is a far stretch, but all the intros/outros remind me of the hidden tracks from Science Fiction. I'm not drawing any other similarities, just that alone and the fact that I enjoy this just as much (possibly more).

have you heard this yet reich? because a lot of the lyrics here deal with divorce/breakups/things ending, so maybe it would bring closure.

Even then, our love was not in question
Nothing changed, you just packed your things one day
Didn’t bother to explain what happened
You like cinematic endings

I'm very well versed in Oberst's discography and love his vocal style very much. I have no doubt I'll thoroughly enjoy this. I'll probably have at least two spins in by tomorrow.
The sad and simple truth is I won't enjoy it as much as I should however. The trauma I endured during my first relationship, years ago mind you, was seemingly always narrated by Oberst. His music just leaves a weird taste in my mouth today. The sounds/smells/sights of the past that music can incite can be equally amazing and sad

I certainly get the emotional component of music and how it can be made or ruined by memories. Hope this one grabs you the right way though, it's a magnum opus.

Wow magnum opus!? I privy you to be a big fan of Oberst so you must know how much weight that opinion carries

I'm actually not a huge Oberst fan at all, haha. This and I'm Wide Awake are classics, Fever and Lifted are up there too - the rest of his discography and side projects are all 3.5-core. I'm genuinely shocked at how much I'm enjoying this.

Just when I thought you were predictable ;]
I bet this is my aoty. I haven't really been captivated by anything from 2020 yet

I definitely don't want to overhype it. Part of how amazing this experience has been to me was the surprise - I went in expecting a fairly routine Oberst experience and coming away giddy and looking for someone to share it with. But yeah, everyone has a different background with the band that could impact how you view this, so we'll see what you think. For me, I had more or less given up on Oberst aside from expecting some decent acoustic vibes and a catchy song here or there. This is...not that.

Just checked my Last.fm and I have about 700 scrobbles from my past 3 months across all off Obersts projects lol. I've been so hyped and so happy with this new LP. Sowing, check out bside on YouTube if you haven't, "Flirted With You All My Life" (cover). So damn good

I THINK they came out to be false accusations (?) I really can't remember. So, I'm honestly not too sure, and am currently unable to scour the internet for something deadset, so please, someone either correct me or confirm. I don't want to speak for any kind of victim, or detract from the serious issue at hand.
