I love Prosthetic, yet I feel like Messiah Complex is so shiny it overshadows (did I really say that?) everything else.

@Mythodea That section at around the 2:20 mark. It's a really just a 4 bar section, but i don't know why it stuck out to me. I guess it's just such an overused theme by now lol.

By the way, i always misread that title as 'A Gluten for Punishment' and somehow i'd love the idea of having a song dedicated to people suffering from gluten intolerance.

I don't even know what song you are talking about... Is it from the Netflix serie or something?
The overall criticism seems to be about the 'organic' part of their latest records and I really agree that it would be cool if the production was a little less polished. Same thing happened with BtBaM, where the polished production took a really cool (heavy) part away from their music. Especially the vocals suffered, which I think is a main issue here too. They are too much in the forefront, eventhough they really don't need to be most of the time. (3:00 mark of Prosthetic is peak Dream Theater btw)

Vector was their best to-date, can’t wait to hear this. Need to listen ASAP

Soundtrack from the Netflix serie. It's the descending line that's reminding me of it. Well, maybe that's just all in my head then.
I actually don't mind the vocal-centered mix if you wanna call it like that. It's just the phrasing doesn't do the mix any favor and the singing is def a lot more one-dimensional than it has been on Vektor.

Not as good as The Mountain (just because it doesn't have such standout moments as Cockroach and Falling Back to Earth), but a solid contender for second best in their discog imo.

I got mad Tool vibes on “Invasion” and “Carousel”. First song it’s the vocals and the bigger song it’s more the guitar work.

I don't know, not a fan of Prosthetic either. Feels a little like they just went "Ok guys lets open up with our heaviest song we could think off" without actually making the riffs interesting or the melodies memorable. Song feels kinda generic because of it imo. Coming around a little on this though. Def enjoy this more than Vector.
