Anyone noticed when Rou sings 'but we can't turn back it's a labyrinth' they use the same synth in Labyrinth? Bit cheesy but damn do I love those kind of details

Beautiful mess of an album. I have to say I feel kinda betrayed, heaviest tracks were used as singles, expected it much darker (like T.I.N.A.). Nevertheless it's loads of fun and I can't wait to explore it in detail

It takes a few listens to sink in. Then you find the hidden gems like Marionettes The Ascent

"god i almost feel like this is the album i've been waiting for them to release for years now" [2]

Definitely my favourite LP from them. Every other had multiple songs that I just couldn't get into, but there's not a single one on this that I'd rather skip. They did something very right here.

I've shamelessly liked them for like forever so this is not surprising

Totally feel you @justplathemus. Still kinda annoyed by the fact that Rou tends to just copy verses in some songs, like he didn't bother writing lyrics for the second verse. Mindsweep was a worse offender, but it always irritates me a bit when he does it

Listened to this 4 times in a row. I never do something like this. Like. If I like a new release I listen to it twice a day. If it's really good. But this time it's something else lol

I think TTTS is their weakest, so big no. But it's definitely up there with their very best. And that's The Mindsweep and The Spark

Mindsweep and TttS are my faves.

None of their albums are bad tbh, just quite a few inconsistent ones.

Haven't listened to these boys enough. Might do a discorun soon if I find the energy for it.

'you're constantly wondering whether they're being earnest or simply taking the piss. I suppose it's both at the same time.'

it is, and its partly why all the dumb 'lol they think theyre so edgy' shit is a bit redundant. they are well aware how dumb it comes across when they juxtapose stupid lyrics with grand political messages.

also, Crossing the rubicon might be one of the worst tracks theyve ever made

@Beardog

Absolutely, copying the verses feels sloppy and it's one reason I can't ever in my right mind 5 this. The other (maybe petty) reason might be that this is nothing really new or groundbreaking, "just" the really best that Shikari have ever been (on an LP) in my eyes.
