This is really well done. Every song is strong. If I had heard this 10 years ago when I was about to turn 30 and going through a massive existential quarter life crisis like these guys clearly are, I would have 5'd it. Now I'm about to turn 40 and I can no longer connect to the anxiety and angst displayed here, but I can appreciate it on an intellectual level. The main reason I love this now is that its melodic, anthemic, and catchy.

yeah this would've been a lot more powerful 10 years ago, hell even just 5. I just feel like the style and lyrics are maybe not sticking with me as much after seeing it done so many times

^Same, Hans. While I don't connect with most of the lyrics, they're delivered with so much zest and energy that I still appreciate it. It's like a bunch of 'Say Yes to Life'-lites; exudes the same passion for their craft but perhaps with a less universal message (?) - I mean, even though I'm sure the lyrics are well-met by a huge swath of their listening population.
Edit: and by less universal I don't mean less important

Thats spot on, Sowing.
I've always loved this genre. I don't even know what its officially called. Org Punk? I call it Anthem Hearts.
I love the soaring melodies/huge choruses that come from bands like this, Menzingers, Latterman, Iron Chic, Smith Street Band, etc.

all fair points. and yeah Sowing! even when I don't necessarily connect with the lyrics, they make me feel it
I'm between the 30 and 40 mark and this hit me like a truck. I think anxiety is just a part of life, so I'd like to think this will still hold up for me when I hit the big 4-0, even if I'm (hopefully) more financially stable

^ Butt, I reviewed the 59 Sound hard back in 2010. Its actually one of my better reviews I think.

"all fair points. and yeah Sowing! even when I don't necessarily connect with the lyrics, they make me feel it"
agreed, and in a way, that makes it even more impressive that they're able to get people outside of their target to empathize/relate/feel anyway

lol Butt I was just giving you a hard time. I've always associated Gaslight with Hans and Jom but I clearly spend too much time here. I've been actively reviewing for 8 years now wtf

idk I really liked the EP before this but maybe it just comes down to the fact that I can't enjoy a whole album of pop punk on that level
