dang, well good thing they remastered this then! More people who appreciate this album the better. I used to be slightly embarrassed about liking this band back when I thought metal street cred was something of importance. Silly me.

Very true DBoy! And "I used to be slightly embarrassed about liking this band back when I thought metal street cred was something of importance" = 100% relatable haha!

yeah they did it the right way where they made the remaster a whole new album. not like they did with those terrible Death remasters that made it 10x harder to find the original, superior mixes.

remaster whatever you want just dont force me to listen to it.

the new production gives it kind of a fredman vibe especially for the more melodeath-y songs like cruelty brought thee orchids. album is good but i prefer the first half to the more symphonic second half

My second fave too (the OG version), after Midian. Sometimes it's my actual fave! Amazing record.

noice, yeah i'll have to chuck on dusk next then m/

I just cant get enough of this band at the moment. their instrumentals are the perfect hybrid between black metal and some other shit. Theres always something interesting going on melodically. And i don't know what it is about danis goblin screeching but its so.. fun i guess? it just works way better than it has any right to lol

Absolutely. They offer a unique blend of sp00kiness with fun with genuine fast/heavy/aggressive undercurrents. Glad you enjoy Dani, he's not for everyone but when he clicks there's no way back and no-one quite like him.

"My second fave too (the OG version), after Midian."

Based Trif, Midian is peak COF

I must be in the minority that thinks this remaster loses a lot of the atmosphere and overall tone of the original mix. I prefer the old one by a considerable margin because it sounds cold and very black metal-ish in contrast to this one, which sounds too polished and loses atmospheric value for me. Some reverb was removed aswell and given what this album is about I just don't like it.

The original mix is FAR FAR FAR superior in my opinion as well. It was bad-good and gave the album a very distinct feel.

I tried to get into Cradle and it hasn't worked so far.

But this album, holy shit this is badass.
