What about this new thing the Paul is doing? That seems pretty gimmicky

--this is awesome lol--
Ha ha. I knew you'd like it.
--Really? Then you missed a lot, haha! Check out 'Magnetic North', Willie - they shamelessly stole the melody of "Telephone" by Lady Gaga. Hilarious!--
I'll check out the rest of their albums. I definitely liked 'Drink'.

I like my prog death metal as much as anyone out there - check my fives. Just not Cynic.

It's definitely hard to dispute those fives, I'll say that. What's up with Cynic? Especially their debut. They took that prog death sound and made it totally their own.

This is like pop-metal. Very catchy but also with enough technicality to make me feel like I'm not just listening to the general radio. I certainly get why people don't respect this as a metal release, but how anyone can dispute its entertainment factor is beyond me. Gonna blast this on my drive home now, ha.

--"Metal doesn't get any more fun than this." Might be the worst review preview ever--
Damn, how many more little bitches is this review going to bring out of the basement? It's a one-line hook. You want a preview? Read the fucking conclusion.

You'd probably like their debut album, too. The second album is much more metal, and not as fun or accessible. I see why the album would drive the purists crazy, and they'd hate it... but any album that can serve as a gateway to metal should be accepted for that, at least.

Oh god he finally cracked. XD
At first I thought Shanti Shanti Shanti too simple and generic but I realized it's a banger live and the perfect song to bounce to. It has some of their sweetest moves too for sure so now I really appreciate it. Check this out.

Ha ha. I didn't crack, but I definitely had too much caffeine in my system. Thanks for the link. All their songs are better live, but Shanti Shanti definitely seems to benefit more than most. And the choreography is pretty damn cool on that song.

Some people here don't understand the concept of a gimmick.
A gimmick is a trick that will work either one time or for a short-term period. If a band has been successful for multiple albums doing a "gimmick" then it's everything but.
