i think it's jazz overall for me. i respect what's being done here, but i just can't bring myself to listen to it for hours without wanting to rip my hair out

Yeah it's a hard genre to get into, you tried the more throbbing subgenres of jazz like Fusion or Free Jazz?

i would 100% advise staying away from free jazz if you're having a hard time getting into the genre or
are just getting into it lol
