Been hooked on False Light for a hot minute, was my AOTY 2020, but have really only listened to that and Debemur Morti, both of which are incredible.
That version of the title track from this in that video got me to finally peep this album, definitely really solid and close in quality to False Light but the production/vocals sounding weaker holds it back a little and I think it meanders in the washed out 'waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa' black metal territory a little more which I enjoy slightly less but still. Definitely really strong and non gimmicky use of sax from these guys. The noir vibes are impeccable and that recording on youtube is fucking stellar.

No Cure for Pain might become an all time favourite song for me. It ticks all the boxes and is just downright beautiful.

Ha the der weg einer freiheit comparison is so apt but in all the right ways

I dug the first album more than I usually like post/black/gaze/whatever projects. The sax is so smooth and convincing it kinda pulls it out of gimmick territory for me. Plus, saxophones are cool as fuck. Listening to this one now.

I like False Light more, but all three albums rip. Need a new one.

Hopefully they've got a post-covid album in the oven!
edit: didn't realize they were from Ukraine, that probably explains part of the delay and hope all the members are alright.

No Cure for Pain is definitely the highlight for me too. What an awesome song. Gonna have to listen to some Bohren too if it sounds anything like the dark jazz sections on here.

Yeah False Light almost didn't drop because of the war so I don't know when they'll have another.
Bohren is more... dark and gloomy and droney to me whereas these dudes go hard at times. You may still like it but it's a different palate to me

I'll have to give it a listen! I do like gloomy walking-past-brick-walls-at-night type sax jazz.
