Lmao at this centrism talk. You don't "choose" right or left unless you're a tribalistic moron. We all fall somewhere on a political compass based on our beliefs. Has nothing to do with being a free thinker.

Except that tribalistic morons are a substantial fraction of the population?

Yeah but poppy the issue isn't choosing a spot on the spectrum, the issue is saying being centrist based on your beliefs is invalid

It's not like I would mistake one for the other, it's just the brooding, angsty attitude combined with (IMO) very standard pop songwriting is something I associate mainly with Halsey. Del Rey takes it in a much more mellow, nostalgic direction, but I think their starting points are pretty similar.

Eh, perhaps it isn't the most apt comparison. In fairness, I'm only passingly familiar with either artist, I'm sure a deeper dive into their catalogues would reveal differences that aren't obvious from just listening to their popular singles.

Words of advice: Do not do anything resembling a "deeper dive" into Halsey's discography.

I mean, she could get it, but that's about where her appeal ends.
