Honestly, i've grown off a lot of what metalcore has had to offer these last year's but i'm still holding out for a good release that justifies the genre's existence. Honestly I went into this album (before listening) with an expectation in the 3.5ish ball-park. The new Killswitch (just for another example) based off the early singles is hinting at a nice 3. That aside the last few metalcore albums I've enjoyed are (3.5 ratings or higher) Trivium - The Sin and The Sentence, Periphery - Heil Stan, Soilwork - Verk (loose metalcore reference), Wolves at the Gate - Eclipse, Grey Haven, Rolo Tomassi, Bleeding Through - Love Will Kill All - - etc.

Big ups to clavier. That was a great representation of what I think goes through the naysayers' minds. There's just no way you can flat out hate everything about this. Impossible I think. Nu metal parts are cringe at points for sure... but there's so much more to offer than just that aspect. I've heard maaaaaaaany more albums worthy of that 1.
