Too many cooks spoil the broth? Sometimes there are just too many ingredients and what you end up with is unpalatable.

That iamtheweapon, doesn't mean anything to this people because its not "decipherable"...in fact they can think these guys went there forced and do not think this is a massively awesome project...because they don't give a damn about how cool are tracks like Beneath The Forest Floor or The Color Of My Memory, and focus on tracks like T/track that is pure experimental noise stuff taken out of outputs like The Body f.e. (disturbing but growing track on me).
I do get the polished production/dynamics of mix/instrumentation or transitions issue...just don't see why most fellas here don't see through it. After the chaos it really comes a sad melancholic beauty on this, that is not, by any and refused means, enhanced on this thread.
Result: Album is a mess agreed....but whata mess.

I would 100% rather listen to most of the people on that list's other projects. Some absolutely stonking stuff on there. Not that this is bad, but when you've got options including Dysrhythmia, Revocation, Artificial Brain and Entheos it's like... what you gonna do?

I get that...really...but maybe you don't like to get your brain fucked with shit like The Body or tDEP (from completely different genres, I know, but mindfucking the same way, in my idiot opinion)
really love Artifical Brain though m/

I like The Body, TDEP and really enjoy prog and mathy technical music in general.
The problem with this album is I never actually felt engaged enough that my brain felt "fucked with".

Which is an awesome example on how to weirdly pass emotion through. Lets go there then lol

DDDeftoneDDD - The band gave a great explanation on why they picked guest musicians on this record. From what they said, all these solos were from one take meaning the band was happy with what they received from the guest solos.

This would do well in elevators, malls and vegan restaurants.

Nice, 3 things I tend to stay well away from if possible. That can’t be a coincidence.

honestly a great review and you defend your stance on the album well, but man a 2

it’s convoluted and inaccessible but idgaf
i appreciate the hell out of the amount of work that must have went into this, and some of the passages are absolutely insane

"Nice, 3 things I tend to stay well away from if possible. That can’t be a coincidence."
Indeed.
I don't get the 'inaccessible' and 'all over the place' thing. I find this rather accessible. And rather boring.

The transitions are pretty jarring idk, keeps shifting from one thing to the next rather haphazardly. Not particularly inaccessible, just messy.

Saddens me greatly that Muenzner, Gargiulo and Hufnagel attached their names to this

"This would do well in elevators, malls and vegan restaurants."
As a person who has a reduced meat diet I can tell you this shit is boring hun. But maybe because im not full vegan that means im not able to appreciate the surface level experimentation of this.

Whoever's jizzing on this (or btbam, for that matter) because of its supposedly genre-defying creativity should jam Unexpect's Fables Of The Sleepless Empire.
Them be showing you where it's at.

Or the first two Thought Industry. Now those are fuckin insane.
