I dont know about dated but goddamn, their inability to change is finally starting to become a fault. The first few tracks rule but aside from Ravens Flight everything sounds flat and monotonous.

so finally I get to listen to this. I have to say I enjoyed it more than I expected. The first half of the album is incredibly solid and, in my opinion, has a lot of memorable tracks. The second half, on the other hand, is not bad, but it's made of "ok songs" that, although surely decent, tend to drag and pale if compared to great part of the band's discography. The closer is one hell of a track tho. By the way, considering they tried to throw in tiny bits of innovation (piano interludes, acoustic guitars, and so on), often succeeding quite well, and rememberng that the first half of the album is definitely solid, I feel like giving this one a 3,5.
