I'll definitely give it more spins. I also jammed it right after lunch doing work which was probably not the best time for this.

it's so refreshing to see some dissenting opinion. felt like this album was being overrated through hype

Rating this after just one listen when you were distracted prolly wasn’t ideal @ Dewi :P I trust you will see the light

These days I listen as many as ten times before rating, first impressions are almost meaningless.

The CD is only $10 on bandcamp with an immediate download. I bought mine last night.

I listened to some of Innocents today, but man, her voice really wasn't the beauty it is now. That album is in the folk "hear the pain in my voice" kind of style, but honestly it's kinda hard to listen to. I'm gonna try Front Row Seat next.

I've been going through her discog as well. First release was dark ambient/death industrial, quite Grouper-esque. Next one is formless psych folk, then with the Innocents she started zeroing in on a fitting sound. Agree that it took a while for Natalie to find her voice.

"are you kidding?"
I'm really not. On my first few playthroughs of this I was completely smitten and was convinced others would be too, if not more so. After more listens I think that while the album isn't necessarily style over substance, the substance is heavily informed by the style. If you don't dig the style, chances are you won't dig the album as much. I for one enjoy pretty much everything about this record.

Love this. She's such a great vocalist and I reall dig this almost theatrical, regal feel to the songs. Andromeda is fantastic.

This is pretty darn good. Will check out her backlog. Her voice reminds me of Mitski.

Might be a weird problem but that instrumental closer really doesn't do it at all for me, it seems weirdly ironic and kills a lot of the momentum for me, I wish they just left it at Picture Me Better or even better Wild Time
