Took down Genichiro and Corrupted Monk back to back and damn, Mibu Village was one of my favourite From levels so far. Felt like something out of the creepier end of the Witcher 3 and hot damn the optional boss (left for now) is hard as nails

There should be a bell beside the save point inside the main hall at the top that you ring to progress on

Didn't show up on my first visit(s) - the priest guy didn't despawn and the interaction wouldn't load. Think it's because I got there before killing Genichiro and entering midgame; all good now ;]

Okay Divine Dragon is my new favourite boss. Perhaps my favourite in a Soulskiroborne ever.

It's a gimmick fight but it's done really well. I love it too.

It's not a gimmick fight. It's the main reason I loved these games to begin with. The rolly polly gid gud fights are the gimmick fights in these games. The games are almost all gimmick at this point.

If I keep going I'm just going to get into a rant about how much I hate people degrading the uniquely designed and special moments in these games that make them as incredible and subvertive of standard video game tropes as they are by calling them "gimmicks".

Sometimes they aren't always executed amazingly but I'd rather 100 "gimmick" fights or sections rather than just another standard action fight.

By gimmick I mean it has one mechanic to take down the boss, kinda like Yhorm. Like, the fight isn't hard, it's just theatrical. I think it's amazing though, it might be my favourite too. Too 3 at least.

I think you're getting too bent out of shape over the terminology dude. We're both on the same page here, but I do think it falls in line with their gimmick fights of the past. If we're calling Yhorm a gimmick boss (and he definitely is) then this is certainly in that vein. But, this one was done well.
