I did, just can't decide how I truly feel about it
Some days it puts me in an awesome trance, other days I find it kind of boring

the last two songs on this record are the best, I have decided. You Ascendant might be one of their best tracks ever.

you ascendant might be one of the most anticlimactic songs the band has ever put out. all that building for a soft ass ending

yea it’s far from a bad song or anything but come on
you were right there about to reach potentially of the biggest payoffs of your career and then you just let the song die

not every song has to end like King Park. this band is not a one-trick pony, I appreciate that they tried something else. I feel more emotion in that song than probably any other on this record

it didn’t have to end like king park but it would’ve been better than just kind of dissolving

This album remind me of mwY's latest in that it shows constraint to a fault.

mwY's most recent album was possibly the most unconstrained album they've ever released..Aaron screamed like a madman in half the songs

Anxiety Panorama unnnnnnf

Yeah, I get that the screaming was sometimes more unhinged. But I felt like the songs were just not as big and climatic as they have been in the past. And the screaming was often low in the mix and distorted in a way that kinda annoys me.

yeah wtf
I know nothing of la dispute, or this album (yet), but saying [Untitled] was constrained is the farthest thing I can think of from the truth...by far the most they've let loose and just gone for the jugular...if anything moments of Pale Horses were constrained (although even that let loose in bursts like Red Cow and Rainbow Signs)

Nope

distorted isn't the same thing as constrained, and the only two times the screaming was low in the mix was the end of julia (which worked perfectly in that song) and the beginning of michael.
i dunno i've obsessed over that album every day since september though so i might be a little defensive of my entrenched viewpoints lol

I wish mwY made more songs like January 1979. No other song by them has resonated with me quite as much.

Well, I agree that low mix and distortion does not *necessarily* entail restraint. But there are times when it *can* decrease the power of the delivery. And I think that that is what happened on [untitled]. Of course, I understand other people experiencing it as enhancing more than detracting. But I experience it as detracting.

Yeah Andria isn't great still. I really only love a few songs from that record to be honest, which is why I find its reach so annoying.
