Recently have been really getting into this record. My favorites so far are in no order Ending Theme, Chain Sling, Undertow, Dryad of the Woods and Beyond the Pale.

Undertow has some brilliant lines
"You were always there
But you may lose me here
Now love me, if you dare
And let me run"
omg, I love it

Undertow got me into this band.

hows the remixed version of this?

It's faithful to the original, but also tries to accentuate some details that are drowned out in the original mix. I like both versions and listen to both as well. Some songs work better remixed and some better in the original imo. It's a good remix

Yeah, I agree with Kalkwiese, Bogren treated the album with respect. Imo the best remixed track is Fandango.

Really enjoyed my first listen. Nice variety.
other than perfect element what other releases are good?

BE is their 3rd best imo, even though it's not an easy record. One Hour by The Concrete Lake is great as well. Entropia is a lovely debut, even though it's a little inconsistent, it's loud and has some funky, jazzy parts that make it unique. Another one is In The Passing Light of Day, that's a spiritual successor to Remedy Lane, but with less melody and more chugs. Again a little inconsistent, but definitely good.
Their worst albums are the Road Salts, which I still enjoy for the most part, and Scarsick, which is just boring

Nice bump, yes it is. Have you heard TPE? That is also an incredible album. One of the best in prog metal. Even more dense and layered than this

I haven't, actually. Sounds right up my alley. I'll be sure to give it a listen.

This is actually the first time I'm listening to this paying close attention to the lyrics, holy shit A Trace of Blood just hit me like a freight train. Jezus H. Christ what pain.

@Kalk there's only one sentence wrong in this beutiful comment of yours, and it's not the one about Scarsick being boring

@Scheu: Agreed man, Daniel is an amazing lyricist and storyteller. In The Flesh has some of my favourite lyrics ever

Yeah A Trace Of Blood is ruined for me as a "normal" cool prog song. Listened to this a couple of times now since diving into the lyrics and I'm in literal tears every fucking time. Probably the most painful, personal, emotional song I've ever heard. Song's the embodiement of the bands name if I've ever seen one.

Yes, but have you heard Where it Hurts?

Yes but not with the lyrics. Do I want to?

It's not in the same vein as Trace... (not a story, I mean), but it's got some pretty serious sentences you don't want to have to say or hear in your life, while also you really want to hear them
