I associate Copeland with Lydia too, probably because of Aaron being on Hospital but also just Illuminate and Eat Sleep Repeat coming into my life around the same time
also there was that really mediocre band that Mindy from Lydia started with the two Copeland guys... there's a reason for the association I'm saying

Man, Marsh is a fucking wizard, always loved his studio magic.

This is growing on me. “As Above, So Alone” is a new favorite. There’s something about that chorus I can’t shake
|

As Above, So Alone is awesome yeah
I love or at least like all of these songs but there's just something stopping me from bumping it to a 4.5, not sure what it is

I also definitely hear Polyenso in some of these songs.

Yo Suddenly is fucking awesome. That bass + that horn solo section.

Would this be a good place to start for these guys?
|
| |
I would say yes. You Are My Sunshine is still my favorite and I still think it's THE Copeland sound but some people probably wouldn't agree.
|
| |
YAMS is absolutely their best out of the albums I've listened to

I think it would be a good place to start, but I would still recommend with starting with You Are My Sunshine and following the discography from there. Definitely go back to their older stuff at some point, especially Eat, Sleep Repeat, but I think going YAMS->Ixora->Blushing is the way to go.

Yeah, agree.

you guys will come around to In Motion eventually

Everything they've done is top notch.

Oh I love In Motion. "Kite" is one of my favorite Copeland songs. Like I've said, I think Copeland has arguably the most consistent discography around. I just think the first three albums are different enough from Blushing that they're no longer the best introduction for the band.

their first two are my favs

Ooh interesting. I'm not sure I've heard that from anyone before. What makes them your favorites?
|
| |
Probably nostalgia of I'm being honest haha
|
| |
The vocals, bass style and overall vibe of As Above, So Alone definitely remind me of Polyenso at their best

Strange Flower and Colorless are duking it out for best song on the album right now and I think Strange Flower is winning. Colorless is badass and more immediate, but Strange Flower, especially the second half, is gut wrenching.

For me it's currently Pope vs. Lay Here
There's a cage match for second place going on in the background between Strange Flower vs. Waltz on Water
