this thread has been a nice three way split between blackface, buck tick as party music, and sexual attraction to questionably young looking women
ive gotten my money's worth for sure, cheers

If anyone wants to talk about Ariana darkening how bout acknowledging that the other pop artist mentioned itt has been slowly but surely pulling a Michael Jackson whitening straight before our eyes.
|
| |
her voice remains the same, that's all that matters....until she tires it out by releasing album each year + touring.
|
| |
this album is racist. she implores the listener to listen to something upside down while dramatically changing the color of her skin for record sales, i am appauled

You leave Paul out of this!

‘and...for the man who said that buck-tick isn't played at parties and I have never went to a party and heard this.... get real, my friend. i have never not been to a party where buck-tick isn't playing all night long. put that in your blender and sip it.’

I have been summoned by the premise of Buck Tick parties...

Time to rate the tracks:
1. Imagine - 4/5 - cute little ditty kinda like Moonlight, another well-done opener typical ariana style
2. Needy - 4.5/5 - love the lyrics here, underrated track
3. NASA - 4/5 - bouncy rhythm, pretty catchy even if a tad repetitive
4. Bloodline - 4.5/5 - this album's side to side, the horns and tropical sway add a unique flair
5. Fake Smile - 5/5 - best ari song in a while, love the sassy vibe, feels almost like a lily allen track
6. Bad Idea - 4/5 - chorus is memorable af, backing instrumental feels like something from a sting track
7. Make Up - 4/5 - simple but attractive melody accented by some cool backing vocals
8. Ghostin - 5/5 - heart and soul of this album, lyrics are quite possibly her best
9. In My Head - 3.5/5 - good vocal performance as per usual, no real hook tho
10. 7 Rings - 4/5 - catchy af, melody is obviously borrowed though
11. Thank U, Next - 4.5/5 - such a smooth track, awesome positive vibe, would have been a great closer
12. Break Up with Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored - 3/5 - don't really get this, it's not terrible but there's no hooks no lyrical importance kinda feels like a b-side tacked on because yolo

All the songs are consistently excellent with the main exception being break up w/ your gf, not sure I understand why that was included

I'm guessing "break up with your girlfriend, cus im bored" is why this is a 4.1 for you and not a bit higher?

eh I dunno if my rating is that well thought-out Strike lol -- I mean err yeah, after running this through a very complex algorithm that song prevented this from achieving the 4.2 it deserves ;-)
@kaiwaz if you like Ari in general you'll like this, it's in line with her typical quality of work but way more consistent

lol you might be reading way too much into it...I don't think there's any conspiracy to break up families through Ariana Grande lyrics
|

Album Rating: 3.5
not saying 'break up with your gf im bored' isn't promiscuous but i'm doubting the larger implications of what you're saying
like labels have been out to slowly destroy families since 2001 lol
