Also I am on my first listen for this, and I really dig the post-rock elements (well done as in not just ultra reverby clean leads played with blasts beats underneat) and the piano here and there. They nailed the whole melancholic atmosphere, but with dashes of hope here n there.

If i can make another rec aside from TGOO for post-bm, it would be Heretoir's The Circle. That record is close to post-bm perfection

Nice! Any favorite tracks? “We Pursue the Serpent of Time” is ridiculously good imo. The closer is prolly my second pick for best track

have they changed their lineup since Cranes? because on each of their newer albums I feel like there's something missing, the atmosphere and crustiness of that one is soooo fucking good

Same members up until Aeon when they changed drummers. Then on Atrophy one of the guitarists was changed out.

Yup Adolf they’ve gone through a couple of lineup changes. I was worried each time, lol. Fun fact: Two of my favorite bands went through a lineup change after an incredible album and the following album was complete and utter shit:

Todtgelichter and Blindead

yep, sometimes you can really tell the difference. i dont think the line-up change is the reason for my rating though because i like Atrophy a lot. maybe the guitarist who left had already helped write Atrophy though? who knows.

Repeated listens still makes my appreciation for this grow stronger. Really digging the dynamic compositions, and those drums are just perfect. I might check out the discog chronologically after I'm done with this one
