It so isn't terrible though.
I guess it won't be for everyone but there's so much fun here, and quite a few cool/smart ideas and twists. Plus it's catchy. And it doesn't take itself too seriously. And it's energetic. And silly. And ugly. And smart.

You guys can't be alone if the average is 'only' 3.6/5, I guess the significant minority just aren't being particularly vocal about their displeasure - either that or the majority of naysayers are those weird non-commenting types.
Anyway, I checked this again and I'm not sure it's worthy of such a spectacular score. I enjoy this more when I'm not giving it special attention. I might drop it to a 4/5, which still puts it in the 5-10 (ish) bracket for 2019.

Yeah I hear you. I'm constantly debating whether this is a 4.0 or a 4.5. It's so much fun, but how to compare it to other albums that take a more serious approach?

Yeah, I'm not sure this will have any sort of impact on me long-term, with the exception of 'yeah that was a fun album' hence the ceiling is probably a 4.0. It depends on your criteria I suppose. The longer I'm here the harsher I get (seemingly), worried about my musical future at this point.

Hard to get the 4.5 honestly. I can get more someone visceraly hating this than consider it superb. Loving it, 3.5 to 4 seems more reasonable.

It's in between a 4.0 and 4.5 for me at the moment, but I'm still in enthusiasm-mode about their live show so it'll stay like this for a while.
