Hawks, IMO 'Mysterious Ways...' is better than this album (albeit a slightly different, heavier sound). This album is fucking great, though, still.

But this is also way better than 'Summoning Black Gods'. I would even go so far as to recommend not bothering to listen to 'SBG', instead listening to something like 'In the Wake of Collisions' by The Arcane Order, or 'Virgin Sails' by Satan's Host.

Finally gonna check this, even though I'm not sure it's my cup of tea. Got a friend that keeps bugging me about it every time I see him.

Really rad. For something that can be mostly classified as death metal it’s quite a diverse journey front to back. If this counts as “death ‘n’ roll” then I need to try out more of that. The reviewer doesn’t think it is, but it’s pretty hard to describe without that term.

Genre semantics. Whatever you want to call it, it's awesome. Almost post rock at times but still rooted in extremity. Some fabulous guitar solo work too.

The death metal atmosphere still peaks through but honestly this is like, almost outlaw-style rock at times. Maybe some post influence there too? Whatever it is it totally wrecks
