"Just saw that the singer is Greek-American, it’s always nice to see the Greek diaspora thriving."
I knew there was something I forgot to include in the review. But yeah Voivod, she also lived/lives? in Germany and speaks the language fluently.

I love the instrumentation on this and all the cleans and the vocal lines are mesmerizing... I just don’t know how I feel about her harsh vocals

Well, coming from where she comes I am surprised that she screams at all. As of now, Eleni is not Eva from Rolo Tomassi, but give her time.

I love how ragged and scratchy her harsh vocals are but I could see them being off-putting for some.

Hang on, so the vox are all done by one lass? I thought there must be two vocalists here.
Regardless of whoever's doing the vox this is excellent, some of the riffs are super-catchy & the song-writing is engaging & varied enough for repeat listens.

Yeah, one vocalist.
This is up there with the best of the year for me.

Would love to see a tour from these guys, probably wouldn't extend beyond the US though.

Yeah next album they do she will probably be better at the harsh vocals. It reminds me of how Spencer from Periphery sounded on their first album... not that grating but like that unused to it.

Eleni's roots are firmly in post hardcore/skramz, her vocal style isnt down to being a novice, its just her style.
She was in a fairly obscure but nonetheless sick German post hardcore/skramz band called Jumbo Jet:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELqFSujMfJ8 < absolute fucking classic
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8a-98KelR_0
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpMuPgYNuyU < from their reunion shows last year
Pretty sure thats how the dudes from Extol were aware of her.
P.s this album is my favourite album this year, and their link brought me back here for the first time in a bout 8 years hahahah

Holy fuck, great find. That explains the three years gap I had between the indie pop duo with her husband and Azusa. (And also destroys the review lol thanks!)

We'll see, haven't actively posted here (or logged in for that matter) for about 5/6 years.
Np mate, I discovered jumbo jet on some weird skramz blog back in the day, I have some shitty downloads kicking round on an old laptop somewhere they were dope.
