I'd say that's the worst. My rating may be a bit of a knee-jerker but even most of the heavy songs didn't impress me on first listen. I doubt I'll ever jam this all the way through again, but I rarely jam Lightless Walk the whole way through either, for the same reasons.

Yeah I'm fine with To Achlys simply because the transition from Isolation is pretty sweet. A World of Joy right after sorta kills the momentum too much though.

I like the slow stuff a lot more than everyone else seems to but I agree it should've been spaced out better.

If they got someone who could actually sing those tracks could’ve been great.

Man it all just feels like discount Gaza to me. This isn’t bad but it’s definitley a lot of wasted potential.

Like the second the last song on this ended I immediately put on Gaza’s debut

I’m really appreciating the slower tracks, though I’ll have to see how this pans out as a whole LP after a few listens. I am enjoying each track as individual pieces, especially To: Achlys.

I mean, I kind of hate to be that guy but this band hasn't and probably will never reach the heights of Gaza. At least for me anyway

For some reason these guys wont even come close to the quality Gaza had. I don't really know why tho

Maybe Parkin had a bigger role in the songwriting than people thought? And they no longer have a guitarist that they had with most of Gaza. Doesn't seem surprising that the quality of the two bands would be different (not saying either band is better). Losing 2 members is a big deal. Plus I bet Lucero has a bigger say in the band's sound now since he's vocals + bass when he used to be just bass.

Relax. Unless wiki lied, one of gazas guitarists left in 09 and he was on most of their releases

oops forgot about the guitarist that Gaza didn't have for 1/3rds of their career my b. NAiHS proved to stand the better of the three. I feel like with CL, the rest of the band got more rabid sounding but I didn't want a crooner.
