Would be their heaviest and best if it had more bass. The first four tracks and Dyers Eve are some of my favorite Metallica tracks though. This Message Edited On 01.07.09

I used to hate this album cause of Lars' snare drum. Finally got used to it though.

Never had a problem with Lars' snare, not even on St. Anger funnily enough.

One > rest of album.

The majority of the tracks are awesome, its near impossible to pick out a definite best...Harvester of Sorrow, ...And Justice for All, Dyer's Eve, Eye of the Beholder, One...I think I would have to go with Blackened myself though. This Message Edited On 01.17.09

Somehow i think the album misses a certain edge. Though its a classic it does have its shades of boredom. and it gets too preachy and political.

Haha well it is my favorite Metallica album; I pretty much love all the tracks. I think maybe only Eye Of The Beholder is lacking.

Definitely my favourite as well.

Dyer's Eve actually has some more technical drumming by Lars. I always found it funny how he rarely performs it live. I think he's done it once or twice altogether.

The reasoning why they hardly play it live is because Lars cannot play the the double kick line so quick for so long. When they recorded it he had to do the double kick part on seprate attempts.

Actually, there is no bass in this album to give honor to Cliff Burton, who passed away while on tour before this album was recorded.
