Ecclesia Diabolica Catholica is such a jam...reaching Bartzabel just now X) m/

Really late, but a post-punk Behemoth album would be money

Bartzabel is cool but it should have been longer. Just as the song really hits it's stride(around 3:50 or so I think), it ends somewhat suddenly without reaching that climax it was hinting at

I think Bartzabel is supposed to be the low-key song on the album.

Well the vox are suitably ferocious so far. I think it’s been mentioned but I very much dislike the child choir bits, fortunately they don’t appear to be that abundant.

Don't they only appear in the intro and track 3? I've only listened to the album once so I don't recall... I'm not a fan of kid choirs but the way they're sparingly used here is absolutely perfect especially in the context of the video.

For whatever reason I was sort of meh on this after one listen, but now that I’ve gone back and listened two more times it’s already growing on me hard. Super consistent songs, also Bartzabel rules btw.

I just think it's annoying you can listen to an album FOUR times, give your honest opinion, and sput still wipes you rating smh

A part of me does find this a tad underwhelming after The Satanist which was such a step up. This isn't taking anything further (except God=Dog), it's kind of just in a holding pattern but still excellent.

what could Behemoth possibly have done to step up from The Satanist? I think that'll be as good as they ever get.
