again, no need to apologize - your outlook is probably more correct in the modern era. i'm an old man by sput standards, hauling around my 31 yr old ass and still trying to promote BN/mwY/Thrice to the next generation of internet music geeks

@gyro - A->B is great, I still like it more than It's All Crazy...but yeah it is still at the lower end of their discog simply because of how good their CFUTF--->[Untitled] output has been. Also I feel like I promote Thrice pretty infrequently compared to MO, so maybe sub them in there lol.

It's All Crazy is probably their weakest album agreed. King Beetle is one of the best songs ever tho imo, maybe some of their best lyrics. Besides that and Fox I don't find myself returning to the album very often

I'll Play. There were probably 10 others that I could've justified to fit on here; they just haven't stuck as well. Sorry, "Sweater." I really wanted to include "Silencer" or "Gentlemen" but some of the newer tracks just edged them out. Also, I'm not sure where either [Untitled] release fits on here yet.

really loving the Catch For Us love on here. My Exit is such a good song but Paper Hanger edges it out. Also think the closer is really damn good (Son of A Widow). Bear's Vision and Messes are also on mine.

Yeah, the last 2 tracks of CFUTF work so well together.
My Exit is packed full of Aaron's peak wordplay.
I said "water" expecting the word would satisfy my thirst
Talking all about the second and third
When I haven't understood the first
This sentiment always reminded me of The National's "Brainy":
mwY:
And she'd always weigh me down
But, afraid I might need her
I dragged her around
The National:
I've been draggin' around
From the end of your coat for two weeks
...You might need me more
Than you think you will

Sowing, sorry this has turned into a general mwY manifesto. I'm sure it'll return to form once we all have the new album.

Nice point dude, gonna relisten to both with this in mind

"You guys are whack. Sweater is obv top 10"
I had it in there then switched it out with Market Dimly Lit at the last second after re-listening to that bassy intro with the accordion layer. "Sweater" is one of the songs that originally sucked me in to mwY, though.
C-Minor needs more love. That simple guitar melody overtop those drums with Aaron's weird, rhythmic, syncopated vocals (almost percussive itself)...such an addicting pacing right off the bat. And that ending, "I'd rather never talk again than to continue to pretend that this never ends" (It Never Ends, It Never Ends, etc.).

@johnnydeking29
With a lot of mwY songs, I'm not always immediately sucked in. Usually there's a moment that grips me and everything unfolds from there. Or maybe it's when I really dive in to the lyrics. Either way, there's still usually some found clarity that makes a song click.
My Exit, Unfair starts slow, so it's easy to dismiss. I was shuffling their discog, and it was this part that pulled me in, when the band falls back and it's just one guitar, then the foreboding/emotional explosion follows: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dVrc1_6C5E&feature=youtu.be&t=2m34s
And the rest unfolded. I do think this is some of their best writing, lyrically. A perfect mix of personal accounts relating to preexisting literature. The instrumentation is interesting/weird/enticing. I guess this formula makes sense for a lot of songs, but it's surely strong here.

My Exit is definitely one of my most played mwY songs. Making a top 10 seems too hard, probably will do a top 20. I have to add songs like Wolf Am I and The Dryness
