Man I really don't get the hate for post-Layne AIC. All the songs Duvall has contributed to writing or performed vocals ("Never Fade", "Last of My Kind", "Phantom Limb", "A Looking In View", "Acid Bubble", "So Far Under", Rainier Fog", etc...) are solid and usually highlights in their respective album.

Megadeth? No shot. Don’t forget Super Collider is a thing. Even their last two are mid as hell.



Opeth? Sorceress and Heritage are also mid as hell, and even then the direction they went in just ain’t it for me chief.



Mayhem? Arguable. Daemon is honestly probably my favorite record they’ve done.



Cannibal Corpse has honestly just never been that good to me. They’re a fun death metal band but don’t have shit on the others you mentioned.



Not familiar enough with Cryptopsy to say, I’ll have to check them out.



And out of all the bands you could’ve mentioned you leave out Gorguts? They kick the shit out of every other band there.
