it ain’t the tunings fault some bands write shitty songs

right but it seems like the tunings add salt to the wound. like the songs would be just as shitty in C but end up sounding worse in G

i mean hell the best song on the new Norma Jean is in F# but I couldn't get into some of the tracks that were in A.

tfw you can't relate to the tuning

| |
Album Rating: 2.5
nah it just takes more effort to make certain tunings work imo. often times bands just rely on the open tonic and it's a little rough trying to listen even if the rest of the song is relatable or whatever
|
| |
I only relate to nonstandard tunings.

Tfw when Agent would rather listen to shitty music than the most recent Norma Jean record
|

Of course he would.

The latest Norma record sees them going down a path I'd rather not they continue on, but there's some great moments. Also, maybe I'd rather not see metalcore become nothing more than a pissing contest to see how "br00t4l" the music can be. You want that? Fuck up deathcore idgaf, but leave metalcore alone.

Agent, have you listened to Hello Kitty Suicide Club's ^_^?

Polar Similar is one of Norma Jean's best albums you dingus, it's not even that "br00t4l" or overtly heavy.
Metalcore is not gonna become that because all the bands are starting to make butt rock now.

eww I'd rather not
heard a few snippets a few years ago and wanted to gouge my ears out

You should listen to Hello Kitty Suicide Club's ^_^.

Polar Similar has plenty of standout moments which is why it's still a 3.5 for me but its mostly the second half. First half is probs a light 3 and then 2nd half is a 4-light 4.5. First two tracks didn't grab me at all partly because they rely too much on that low tonic for my liking.
Lmao I'm talking about bands like Wage War taking over the scene and making soulless, average chugga chugga core.

I'll do it when i need an objectivity booster

No, listen to it right now. I'm listening to it right now for like the third time today why wouldn't you?

I would rather listen to chugga chugga core with energy than something as lifeless as this or the new Memphis Mis Fire album

@Alexander: not in the mood to vomit atm
@Kenbo: well fair enough, these bands weren't exactly the cream of the crop to begin with tbh so them leaving core isn't much of a loss.

Ok.
