Yeah agreed Source. But Devil does have some great tracks like Choke, Breath on a Window, Phantom Limb etc.

Meh I couldn’t even make it through Dinosaurs because I got way too bored

I'd take a greatest hits album of their post-Layne work, that'd make it worth it

this is easily their worst. dinosaurs isn't as consistent but at least has clear standouts, some of their best songs. it also had more repeat value than this. bgwtb destroys both tho
honestly I'm not surprised why this didn't received much attention.

I think this is marginally better than Dino's
Agree BGWTB way better than both.
I rate it 3.4
'Maybe' is good in my opinion. The opening harmonies sound a bit barber shop, but then it changes and is pretty cool from there on.

The run from "Maybe" to "Never Fade" with "So Far Under" in the middle is probably the best thing they have done post-Layne.

I only like BGWTB a sliver more than this, honestly. And I got to about track 8 on Dinosaurs before I gave up because nothing was standing out at all and it was just droning on for me. I’ll revisit it some day though. Out of the AiC albums I’ve heard Dirt>BGWTB>Facelift>Rainier butbhonestly the last three are all pretty insanely close for me, probably within .1 of one another.

Say what you want about the album has a whole, but can we all admit that Jerry can pull an amazing solo out of his ass?
Every single solo is amazing, and he has such a distinct style.

I'm still coming to terms with my feelings with this album and frankly, there's just not enough variation. BGWTB was a great album because it rocked out (Lesson Learned, Last of My Kind), tore your face off with heaviness (A Looking In View) and had mellow genuinely pretty moments (Your Decision, title track). TDPDH had those things too, but was just too long and unwieldy.
This one however, just doesn't have enough variation to keep it interesting. None of the countryfied ballads that Cantrell seems to have a knack for and no real rockers except for Never Fade.

The One You Know is honestly in my top 20 AiC songs, don’t get why more people don’t love it honestly
