"Ten Stories got weirdly cheery indie-poppy at certain points, and PH cut off the unnecessary fat."

If you're talking about tracks like Fox's Dream and Cardiff Giant, they were album peaks and still feel pretty fresh tbh

Nine stories really grew on me, very good song. Regarding unnecessay fat, I don't really dig Blue Hen and Birnam wood on PH

I love both songs. And re:Ten Stories, Cardiff Giant is one that I was referring to. Just not a fan. Fox's Dream is my fav track though. Aubergine isn't poppy, but I find it boring as hell. Fiji Mermaid is just okay.

Ten Stories would be perfect if it ended on Bears Vision. I understand the point of Circles, but it feels so anticlimactic.

Circles is cool in theory but I find it boring to listen to. Aubergine is pre w.e too

I love Aubergine. It works perfectly as a breather in the middle of the album.

Bethlehem WV, Winter Solstice, and Kristy w/ the Sparkling Teeth are definitely my favorites. Kristy is currently one of my favorite songs of there's.

Kristy is prob my favorite but Aug 6th and Bethlehem are brilliant too, and I love the lyrics to Winter Solstice

Nothing wrong with Dirty Air, sort of enjoyed the semi-chorus it built to

the ambient tracks in the middle are my least favorite but they're still pretty

Yeah my opinions of the tracks so far are:

Bethlehem is masterful.

Solstice is also amazing and the lyrics are some of Aaron's best.

Dirty Air has a great feel to it.

Cities of The Plain is great when it actually starts, but I don't care for the almost 2 minutes it takes to get going.

Existential Dread is good, but feels lacking compared to the other tracks.

August 6th is hauntingly beautiful.

Kristy is seriously one of my favorite mwY songs at the moment.

Aaron sounds like John Darnielle in some of the verses on Dirty Air

This would probably be a high 3.5 for me, but those firs and last two songs easily make this a 4. Some damn juicy jams. Hype for the full length, especially since it's supposed to be more "aggressive and chaotic".

'nice appetizer'

Indeed, grew on me hard, like every mwY release
