Weirdly enough I can see reason for people giving this a 1 and reason for people giving this a 5. The peaks and valleys are legitimately that drastic imo. I think Five Cups is beautifully chilling and engrossing, but at the same time the vocals in Gameshark are so fucking obnoxious they actually make me angry.

Well said, I for one love the chaotic vocals in gameshark. And I def can see people rating it low, but there is way too much variety I feel for it to be a 1. There is something here for everyone in almost all regards.

@BrushedRed No prob man. I think you should definitely take a break with this album tho. Sometimes frustration can seep into your listening and make it hard to see redeeming qualities. The new Delta Sleep record may be more friendly to you, if you'd like a recommendation.

Just asked my friend about his thoughts on this and turns out he hates it too lol. All to your own I guess. And that's a fair point Aspen, the array of different sounds could be a hit and miss for some. I'm just glad it isn't as homogeneous as Dealer was.

If someone had never been into anything experimental or synthy then that’s what I think is gonna be the deal(er) breaker here. These 1s especially all sound rushed and no extra effort or time was given to this. Absolutely LOVED albatross for its rawness and twinkly moments and dealer was a mellow atmospheric mood setter but this is a whole other mood of it’s own. It’s definitely a grower although it was really engaging and attention grabbing off the bat, the more I pay attention to the lyrics and little instrumental subtleties the more full and emotional it gets. This seemed like a nice transition from dealer to smidley (connor’s solo project from last year) to this.

I'm absolutely into experimental and synthy music, I just don't think this is executed well at all. It's a creative and imaginative failure.
