Because he talked about how EP's get buried/ forgotten on digital streaming platforms when they are published as such. LP's are generally at the top of the artists page, and he wanted Bad Witch to be more "relevant" in a way. I actually think he has a point, so yeah, that's why.

He has a point but it contradicts their previous work. The intention of releasing an EP is to produce an under the radar project. It's interesting they jumped to a mainstream route. I wonder if the intention is to drag the NIN back into the limelight.
