Personally I found Red Cloud to be comparable to Silent Waters.Maybe not as great, but still. This one's awesome too, though.

I'd say it's my nr. 3. Amongst the Stars is really good. Love her vocals on it. Also golden Elk and the first two singles pretty much had me sold anyways, before it was even out.

The Bee is such a great song. Best track of the year, so far.

Amongst Stars and Wrong Direction are also top 50

Spot on review. Amorphis always confuse me. They always seem to try to write progressive metal, but not really. Hints of prog elements and complexity are scattered everywhere, but in reality most of it is written in 4/4 and the songs are really straightforward. Usually I don't have much of a problem with straightforward writing, except when it tries to sound like something it's not, which is what Amorphis is doing here. I mean, I like them, but after every listen I always wonder if I missed something because it sounds like there's supposed to be more.

This is growing off of me a little bit, just not getting many wow moments with this one right now.

Going to Insomnium on Friday. Hopefully Amorphis makes it down here (S. Florida) soon.

''This is growing off of me a little bit, just not getting many wow moments with this one right now.''

I would agree with this cause the last two times I spun this it wasn't as amazing and great as I thought but... naaahhh.

Listening to it rn, I might bump this but I'm still undecided on some stuff, lawl.
Impeccably written and very epic.

The Bee is an incredible song.
I can say the same of Message in the Amber, Grain of Sand and especially Amongst Stars, We Accursed and The Golden Elk.

What an amazing album.

Imagine disregarding something because it's in 4/4. It must be a harsh and joyless existence.

Absolutely brilliant album. Not a weak track on it. I must wholeheartedly disagree with the review. I’ve listened to it over and over to identify the weak tracks. Sorry, none to be found; although, my favorites are Daughter of Hate, Golden Elk, and the rest of them.

This whole album is damn near flawless. This is turning into my favorite Amorphis release.
