First time I've heard Beach House and this was so amazing. I liked it in the first listen but immediately listened once more. I never usually do that. Is their other stuff as good as this?

Not vibin with this at all. It sounds like some washed-up instrumental that loops around over a vocal from a high af old lady. It's chill but also sleep inducing at times. In other words, boring as heck.
Cigarettes After Sex did this better on their latest effort, despite me not liking it as much.

i dont get how you can think cigarettes had the better dream pop album between the two. i saw them live because my girl likes them and every song was actually indistinguishable. there's a good bit of sonic variation on this album and youre just not listening if you cant see that

The CAS has stronger song writing than this imo - it's less bells and whistles, more minimal/lo-fi...so it had to stand up on the songs alone. For me they're WAY more distinguishable than the songs here, particularly the slightly mushy 'Lemon', 'Lose Your Smile' and maybe 'Girl of the Year'.
The Ciggies album was badly underrated, always thought it, this riding high in the RYM charts confirms it.
This is good though.

yeah i can respect that, im gonna have to listen to it again since live settings rarely do subtle music justice.

but this is still the least samey album ive heard from this band, the typical criticisms and complaints of stagnation they get thrown at them seem disingenuous when you have stuff like lemon glow and dark spring on here

I want whatever you guys are smoking

whoa that average. I listened to like thirty seconds of this and I was like, 'yeah that's about exactly what I expected from this band'
I'll probably check it out properly later, maybe I'll really like it

yee I have no idea where to go for music I know I'll like lmao
at this point I'd have better luck at an Abercrombie + Fitch than this site

Btw, if you want a good dream pop/gaze album, there are plenty of them last year, starting from what I like the most:
Life on Venus - Encounters
Panda Riot - Infinity Maps
Secret Shine - There Is Only Now
Airiel - Molten Young Lover
Fazerdaze - Morningside
Shelling - Waiting for Mint shower
Soon, She Said - The First Casualty Of Love Is Innocence

AOTY fo sho
“Is their other stuff as good as this?”
Hard question since this is so different. I think Bloom is the only one that’s better, personally. But if you expect anything else like this then you won’t find it in their discography.
Also the CAS comparison is absurd. That album was such a major disappointment. It was so flat and stagnant.

Same, anatelier. Seems like people are just desperate for an aoty

This isn’t AOTY - it’s similar to last years Slowdive more than anything.
Whatever you rated that you’ll probably rate this, if the Sput world was logical

Slowdive was way better than this
