Another fantastic country act that I’ve just discovered and who are quickly becoming a favorite is the Turnpike Troubadours, highly recommended

Tbh though, the more I listen to this, the more I find that its appeal comes from its pop elements more so than its country ones; not that that’s a bad thing, but I think that’s a big factor in why it’s having so much crossover success.

I've only heard Hop Along and The Wonder Years, but I'm about to check Underoath and Kacey Musgraves (ok, technically last week but w/e)...Hop Along and TWS were both 4.5+ which just doesn't happen in the same week

I just watched the review and it wasn't even very good. I'm not just saying that because of fanboying over the album either... the review was short as hell and just made a bunch of sweeping generalizations about country music and why Kacey should be more of a "country artist" rather than doing her own thing. Idk, I normally like Fantano even during his controversial reviews, but that one didn't do it for me

It’s the same way every time he reviews country. It’s clear that he doesn’t actually care about the genre at all and holds it to the wrong standards. When he reviews country, it’s only ever for the few popular/breakout acts that pop up every now and then.
