Not just echoing what it's already stated but what a great, great review. You balanced music analysis and band backstory perfectly. Now I'm wary to listen to this. I feel I'm going to fuck up whatever nostalgia I have left for this band.

Man, I wish this had more energy than it does. It sometimes comes through but as it is this is OK.

Imagine making a new album filled almost entirely with singing and not screaming and then forgetting you have Aaron in your band.

The singing isn't that amazing either. What a let down. I'll still jam it but this should've been much better.

Album was pretty good. If this was some random band's first album everyone here and fans of the genre would probably be celebrating such a great debut.
I really don't understand why they wanted to regress so much in terms of song writing and structure but in the end this band going for generic radio rock is still going to blast the socks off of 99% of the other bands trying to do the same thing.
|
| |
Not sure how this would be viewed as a great debut when it's pretty generic and boring all around. If this was a new band they would be viewed as yet another one of these bands doing the same things other bands of this type do.

In Motion might be my song of the year, honestly.

Going through my first listen, I just finished Ihateit and so far most of the songs have ranged from bad to average. Talk about a letdown. I kinda liked the first track but god damn this is a bummer.
Edit: Done. The fuck were they thinking? Probably one of the most disappointing listens I have ever experienced.

Why speak in hypotheticals? This is fucking underoath. It's not a bad album but it leaves me wanting more. This would be OK regardless if it was their first album or not but considering the last three album the band made they can do better.

yea wake me is the worst song theyve done with spencer and rapture is probably the second worst. the rest is good but it mostly hovers around the 3-3.5 range, which is sub par for underoath standards. on my teeth still goes pretty hard tho

aight this has been getting continuously better as it progresses. ihateit would be a pretty average song except for this one part in the middle where it gets heavier than most anything else on this album. no frame is fucking sick and hold your breath is like all the poppy shit done right
if it keeps up thisll probably be a 3.5 but bloodlust and sink with you will probably grow on me
