The EP is marginally better for me, this does have some great jams though.

this is a good album, the s/t track might be the best song here. The collab with Pijn blows this away IMO, but apples and oranges

Retch, Mire and Of Flesh Weaker Than Ash are aaaaamaaazing songs in a row...also this gets better on each listen. I really hope you see this is more than 3.5 in the future X)

PS: I need this cover back up cause I have this on 2018 list...damn it

It reminds me of the new Hath. It's solid, but just not super memorable. I'll listen to it and be like this is competent, grooves hard, is better than a lot of the similar modern stuff coming out, but in a year or two will probably forget it exists

New Hath is awesome too...but in fact, for dislikers, it can be a more sterile/ derivative (hate this word) than this...I'm sorry but this one has some really profound beauty in it waiting to be found. (but then Hath and this - apples and oranges too).

Yap they did, its tight. The other is the 360º video of Retch played in a small room. Its fuckin awesome imo lol

PS: I'm jumping on that Pjin+Conjurer as we speak

EDIT: Oh OK...first track in and def different, I get your point...digging very much, it makes the name High Spirits fairness. Apples and Oranges indeed.

Think I actually prefer this to the split, it's growing off me and I've not really had any major desire to return. It's like Baroness go post-metal, which quite predictably produces solid output, if nothing mind-blowing. Apples and oranges though, like you guys have said.

I'm gonna spin a bit more...although I don't prefer it to this one I found it very beautiful.

Curious Demon mentioned Baroness going post, cause I got some Mastodon vibes, particularly from their EP Cold Dark Place.
