The lows of this never reaches the lows of Encore, this is just his most consistently mediocre/bad project

I think this release makes me appreciate some of the choice cuts from the last few albums

its like he puts it all together and just tells his fans here this is what im giving you. complete garbage. walk on water, one of the highpoints, is growing older by the listen. easily eminems worst album and hasn't but put out anything credible in 15 years. its probably time to hang it up

I have listened to Revival thrice and my final verdict is; It's a virtuoso album that touches every topic that's important. I think people should prefer content and substance when it comes to music. Music is a platform that should be used to speak up & that's what Eminem's done.

Don't know Eminem too well but judging albums on popular score and album titles, ever since 'The Eminem Show' what he calls his albums seem to be of a by the numbers attitude, playing his past identity. Trying to be 'Eminem' again, opposed to expressing 'himself' genuinely.

i think he's afraid to make "mature music" so to speak, since he's clearly one of those artists that is so convinced of what he thinks people "want" from him he won't even allow himself to just sort of naturally make music - which is a shame, because "Beautiful" was easily the best thing off Relapse & the main thing that killed Encore was the onslaught of forced "poop joke" tracks

i guess it's not so much about the mature aspect as him trying so hard to sound fire-y or something all the damn time, has he completely forgotten how good stuff like "If I Had" or even a lot of Infinite was when he would just chill the fuck out for a minute and let things flow?

honestly i'm starting to think part of the reason MMLP2 was as good as it was is because the title alone took off some of that self-imposed pressure to try & remind everyone why anyone called him one of the greatest by doing that damn "throaty shout" every second of every track

Yeah I can see that, trying to find his honesty, but there is dissonance with that intent by making it a '2' as well.

I think the long term effects of all those prescriptions he was abusing are starting to kick in.

Between this and the new Star Wars film, I'm not sure which I'm more disappointed in. All I know is that I'm sad.

The album sucks pretty hard, but “In Your Head” is pretty sick, I can’t even lie.
