It's lovely. He was very talented and had quite a stylisitc range.

Hell of a shift. Wonder what happened in between his doo wop days and Elf.

I suppose his early years add flavour to his saga. What a humble man and what a voice. There is a video of Gates of Babylon on tube from some TV appearance back in the days. Man, i can watch it again and again for a whole day.

"I feel like people are giving this a pass for songs like Do You Close Your Eyes, because it's Dio and Blackmore, but there is no denying a song like this isn't on par with the rest of the album imo"

My eyes are fucking bleeding! I've grown tired of comments like these, that song fucking rocks!

Do You Close Your Eyes is by far the weakest in here and it is still a freaking amazing song

I have to agree there, @MrSirLordGentleman .

I would definitely write something for this album (definitely one of my all-time favorites) but everyone else's reviews are so cool.

It still amazes me that Dio didn't like the B Side on this album. It's probably the best thing he ever did and yet years later we had to conform with a couple of minutes for Stargazer every now and then on a live concert and A Light in the Black been absolutely forgotten

Just a friendly reminder that the Blackmore / Dio collaboration in Stargazer is irreproachable

It's like when you imagine two all-time greats playing for the same team, but it never works. On this occasion it did for three albums. A shame they didn't release more stuff together.

I always found it weird that Stargazer wasn't the closer. A Light in the Black is cool, but... Stargazer

It's because of the lyrics. A Light in The Black is the follow up to the wizard's story

I really need Blackmore to take some old master recordings and finally give us a proper live version of A Light in the Black
