Been meaning to check more from this band. Holographic Universe is amazing and I remember digging The Illusionist video when it was released. Gonna jam this one hard today.

Alright, this definitely isn't as good as Holographic Universe, but still has some sick riffs throughout. You can definitely see the improvement on the next one.

I actually like it better, it's more varied and less theme-focused, also has a lot of heavier moments than HU had



some tracks require a few listens to really work, for example the kaleidoscopic god has gotta be their best written song and you can only appreciate it after a few listens. the bonus track "carved in stone" is another strong highlight

Yeah took me years to appreciate that song but it's a real gem. No bad song on here but I'd say other highlights would be calculating the apocalypse and dreaming 24/7



not sure if you've checked out their debut yet, it's more lowkey and less upbeat and more ethereal instead, but also has some real fun moments
