Just no

Kept hearing "Colors" & "Up All Night" getting played around here & eventually caved and bought my first Beck record since Guero. i'm unapologetically into (good) pop so I think it's pretty solid, title track is obv fuckin' bangin. Only thing i'd really say about it is the closer ends very anti-climatically & there are some obvious cringe moments though considering this is Beck, whether or not it's in jest is up for grabs

And the split reaction is utterly unsurprising. Just keep waiting for that Mellow Gold Part 2 I guess, lol

An interesting take on modern pop from Beck. Doesn't always work but there's some good stuff. I feel like if this had the same level of kitsch as Midnite Vultures it would be way better than it turned out.
