I love their earlier stuff, but the later albums like this just feel tedious to me and most of it just blobs together and nothing stands out.

Uhm I can agree partially but I think that Faith Divides Us could very well be considered their best album for performances and songwriting (both things they've always been inconsistent at imo).

This isn't actually bad at all. I still enjoy listening - it just somehow feels unnecessary.

I do wonder if they'll try to reincorporate more clean vocals, or if they'll go even further into the growling vocals.

We'll see, they started working on it apparently.

In a post in rocking.gr, Macintosh revealed that part of the new material will remain in Medusa territory, but the album will also be around ‘80s gothic/heavy rock, with distortion-free electric/acoustic guitars.

I hope they will also go post punk, some of the covers in Tragic Illusion 25 compilation had it in them.

if they can do something like Draconian Times with heavier parts and growls added in, that'd be pretty rad

On the style of PARADISE LOST's next studio album, which they recently started recording with producer Jaime Gomez Arellano:

Greg: "There's a couple of songs in the new stuff that kind of pick up where [2017's] 'Medusa' left off, but, for the most part, it's a lot more varied. It's hard to pigeonhole, but a couple of songs, I would say, are almost '80s goth music. There's a lot of stuff in between and a lot of quite eclectic stuff on there. It's going to be quite a varied album, I think."

PARADISE LOST's next studio album is tentatively due in the spring of 2020.

Pumped for the "80s goth music" part. A genuinely eclectic (as they said) album that more or less touches all their sounds would be great.

Gods of Ancient slaps, especially the second half. Nick sounds great in this one, def more confident than TPW.
