Yeah this is top 20 on my list for sure. A Fever Dream is creeping up on it hard too.

Yeah, that album is very good as well. Early in the year I was only digging metal releases for the most part, but now that we are deeper into 2017 I have a pretty decent range of genres with releases I have been impressed with.

Unfortunately, my most anticipated albums have come in fairly underwhelming with this being an exception.

theres lots of pleasant instrumentation and technical skill on this album, but only like 1/10 of this band's songs are remotely catchy to me.

I agree, but I get so many of their songs stuck in my head anyway.

the Song Exploder episode on that song is so good. Chris Bear is such a beast drummer.

IDK if I'd go that far but still a monumental disappointment after Shields

I think this stands toe-to-toe with Shields, but they basically gave me everything I wanted on this, so what can I say?

"Grizzly Bear ages like fine wine."

Which is why their first album is their best. 😎😎😎

Finally got around to giving this album some attentive spins after limited attention listens upon its release. I'm really digging it now - some of Bear's most raucous drumming and Rossen's guitar on this thing is outstanding. Also, I tend to prefer Rossen's songs overall, but Ed Droste really steals this show this time around with some outstanding vocal performances. Good stuff.

It's a great album for sure. I haven't jammed it in a while. Might have to bust out my 2XLP this weekend and float away.
