Depends on what you define as "hip hop". This is definitely prettier than most hip hop records. As for this vs. DAMN., I like them pretty equally for very different reasons. I'm usually the person who hates when people say we shouldn't compare albums...but that's a really weird comparison.

I do not care about lyricism half as much as most of you guys... Prod on damn Is better in my opinion, and Is way more catchy and has way more replay value than flower boy.

Am I the only one that isnt that impressed? It sounds "good" and thats really it. Yes, his earlier works were "dark and edgy" but at least it felt real to a certain degree. Plus, to be honest, the background beats have just sounded random as hell when you pair them with the lyrics. Its been like this since Cherry Bomb.



Im glad hes moving on from OF and starting to rap again, but this isnt on the level of his old stuff in my opinion.
