Rising Sun is one of the weaker tracks I find, I still don't why it belongs on the record but it's still the best renditions of it I've heard

Anyone else find themselves jamming along to the final minute of Snare? For some reason it works well being screamed out of rolled down car windows

It's a jam-pop record longer in track lengths and shorter on ideas. If only they could achieve the focus they display here without simply latching onto a handful of riffs and maintaining them for minutes past their due.

It is a pretty dense album and there's a lot going on.

The main reason I dislike this band is that "art pop" is an end goal for them rather than a medium to deliver music that's actually forward-thinking. There's nothing progressive here: a hodgepodge of ideas and self-conscious weirdness aren’t indicators of originality.

Fair point and if that's how you see it then you're totally entitled to that opinion.

I don't think they're just going for weird, I think they're using art pop as a foundation for exploration into various other genres and styles. This is their least art poppy album too, there's a lot more folk and synth pop on here than on their previous albums.

I don't enjoy their music because I think it's original, it's just catchy and oftentimes beautiful. Taro and something good are great examples of this. And they don't at all seem overly 'artsy' to me. I mean, I think they have some pretty creative ideas, but none that strike me as pretentious or too out there

4.7 is triggered by a dissenting opinion on his [favorite new album] but can't formulate a counterargument. Sad!

I'm willing to bet Lucid is the one who's right here.

I'm in the middle of both of them. Two of the songs are kind of boring and one is outright awful, 3 are pretty good and 2 are phenomenal. It's definitely very inconsistent imo. If they cut 3 tracks from this it would make for a very solid ep
