to clarify my amusement: the number of tool fans who fancy themselves as intellectuals exceeds by quite a big margin the number of tool fans who truly are intellectuals. ( same with black metal and nietzsche etc.)

I don't think I've ever watched Fight Club as an adult thinking the movie was a "very homoerotic plea for ham-fisted socialism". That being said, I already think Tool is a highly overrated band. The band themselves can't even stand each other long enough to make music together, not to mention in their absence there have been tons of albums from other artists far exceeding anything that Tool has ever released. Tool is an okay band that has a couple good songs from each of their records. They don't deserve the praise they get though.
