Blushful I'm glad you agree Sunshine and Tech is their worst. Some great tunes no doubt, Busby is a fantastic track but just nowhere near the level of their album prior.
I think Shine is my favourite right now.

Interesting ranking, man. For me:
No One Gets Lost is a 4.7 (sometimes 5);
Sunshine & Technology is a 3.6;
Throw Me in the River is a 3.7 that could turn into a 4 soon;
and this is a 4.5 that could turn into more of a 5 if it doesn't wane on me.

Do their other albums sound not shit?

I wish I liked Throw Me in the River more than I do. I heard it before Sunshine, but after No One Gets Lost. To be honest, I think most of the songs are great (with the exceptions of Surrender and East London Summer, which are just good IMO), and only a couple amazing. I know I'm not in the majority with my opinion of I Love Life, either. I just find it too jarring in the context of the album. If the album was structured a little different, I might have loved it. Honestly, there's just a disconnect between me and that album - though I obviously still think it's great.

Surprised you don't rate river that highly man, it packs an emotional punch. Glad you enjoy No one gets lost though. I really love the sound of their earlier tracks

I think if you heard it after their debut I would agree its not as good when put side by side. I think that's why I don't rate sunshine and tech that highly

"Do their other albums sound not shit?"
Hard to tell what you'd like from your ratings, mate... Honestly, if you thought this sounded too much like the other emo/punk albums that Sputnik loves, I don't think you'll dig Throw Me in the River, though that and No One Gets Lost (which has more of a folk punk influence than any of their other albums) are their most popular, so no harm in trying them.

Schoonda, have you given Wil's demo tape a listen? If a lot of those songs were produced as well as a Smith Street album, I think they could have been my favourite collection of his songs. I'm gonna give Throw Me in the River some more listens, just because we seem to agree on No One and Sunshine.

Yeah I have man, my girlfriend loves it. There's a few realllllly great tracks on it. But for me it's a little too long imo
What you deserve, dinosaur bones, I don't love you anymore, it, and king of all things breakable are my favourites from it

Love all those songs a lot. I'm a little in awe of the number of songs Wil pens, but I suppose he's secured a formula for it at this point.

No One Gets Lost Anymore 4.5-5
Sunshine and Tech 3.5
Throw Me in the River 4.5
This 4.5 as of now, could grow, could wane
Honestly the only song on here that I'm not a fan of is Run Into the World which seems like a common trend on here. Every other song is good to amazing with several amazing tracks. Big fan of this puppy.

I adore Run into the World; I love the guitar work on it, and it has some of the best lyrics on the album (bar the kinda silly divide/conquer line in the pre-chorus). Just love how it manages to sound despondent and ... driving at the same time.
Yeah, the anger on Suffer is so very necessary at that point in the album, and nice rating bump Piglet.

that's a nice lyric for sure but her voice grates and she recently seems determined to write the most boring, by-the-numbers melodies she can. which is a shame cos FREE BIRD had one of the dopest choruses ever
