It took me 6 or 7 careful listens to start enjoying it. It's still too long and some songs are pretentious. But I kind of expected such an album from FJM and I was overall not disappointed. I find the t/t pure genius, probably it's nothing new conceptually speaking but it's the right song at the right moment, plus it's also quite enjoyable musically speaking. I say let's give FJM his own space and if he fucks it up or gets hate why care? I'm glad this LP is coming out even if it surely won't be AOTY. That'll go to Fleet Foxes, I'm pretty sure.
